Some things cannot be taught they have to be experienced

People always say practice makes perfect. It is certainly true in my personal beleif. In a way practicing something is exposing yourself to that experience. You do homework to get used to the lesson. In a way practicing is a way of experience. In a way one can't learn somethings without practice.

  1. Certainly we would be unwise to make a conclusion about an experience without having experienced it yourself. There are some limits to this; we can only predict what Death (with a capital D) feels like.
Regardless, there have been journalists who take this philosophy to heart. Example: a political commentator once totally changed his mind about the issue of waterboarding (a form of torture utilized by the United States in Guantanamo Bay) after having undergone a controlled waterboarding for just three seconds.

  2. If you haven't noticed already but a majority of the things that one would learn in school is irrelevant to a certain extent but there is an underlying idea of school which is to learn how to learn.

  3. Just about everything you learn comes from some form of experience. The only things that aren't learned from experience is being able to breath, your brain functioning, and your heart beating.
