Sports or school which is more important? What I am asking is should I spend more time playing sport or do school work. Knowing that if I play college sports, it will be division 3, which award no scholarship. However, if I improve academically, it could impact my college acceptance and financial aid packet. What will you do?
If it were me, and I'm running at the same level that you're probably playing football, I'm working slightly harder at school than my sport because I know that no matter how hard I try, there is always someone better than me in my sport, and typically only top notch people get those sports scholarships. However, many people who get good grades and good ACT scores get more scholarships, and the more essays you write, the more you're probably going to get scholarships for things. I also think that education (and college classes) are what's actually going to get you to your future job. There are so few athletic positions for us "average" athletes, that, unless you've worked hard your entire HS career for that athletic position, it just won't happen.
ReplyDeleteTheoretically, one would want to do it all, be awesome at sports and academics. In reality, though, there just isn't time. I think that you should try your hardest in both areas of your life, but put put academics first. Getting a solid education and going to a good college will form the basis you need to get a successful career that will enable you to live a comfortable life. Football can always be a part of your life, but how you do in academics now will determine your path for the future.
